Odlewnia Kutno: A new spectrometer at the quality control department
Kutno Foundry most recent addition - metals chemical composition analyser - SPECTROMAXx, enables full supervision over the chemical composition of their products, at the same time it is one of the key devices giving the Odlewnia's metal such high quality!
Quality control of Odlewnia’s casts carried out at each stage of the production process ensures the highest quality of products and meeting their customers’ requirements.
Odlewnia have it’s own laboratory where their products undergo the following tests: – chemical composition of input materials and metal used for production, – micro structure of castings, – Tensile strength of cast iron Rm, – hardness of castings HB, – impact tests (impact resistance) in room and negative temperatures (-20 C), – non-destructive with ultrasonic flaw detectors.

The tour was organised within the Foundry course hours and its main aim was to present what the pressure casting process is like, both in cold and hot chambers. Those processes are standard fare for Saga ’s workers, but for the students of 3rd semester – it is an interesting novelty.
Young people could hear about the industrial reality and get familiar with Saga’s business activity. They could also observe impressive processes: machining on CNCs, surface treatment, and cataphoretic painting. The cherry on the cake was the possibility to watch closely how the castings quality control equipment, such as coordinate-measuring machine or industrial X-ray, work.
We believe the visit at Saga Poland was an inspiration for the students and introduction to their future careers at the foundry industry. We are glad we can actively support the education system in forging skills needed at the labour market!
The training will be devoted to legal requirements under the FIT for 55 Package that are to affect the organisation’s activities: CSRD-ESG, taxonomy, EU ETS – EU emission trading system , CBAM – carbon border adjustment mechanism, energy efficiency, recycling goals.
What is more, at the training, Saga’s experts are going to share their experience in the implementation of sustainable development principles in the company. They are also going to give our guests a tour of the plant.

It is a pleasure to announce that Zakłady Metalowe Postęp just launched the cooperation with a highly prestigious scientific centre, the Silesian University of Technology, under the P4S project!
Cooperation with the Polish leading scientific centres gives us a real opportunity to take part in shaping the future of education. For us, it is a perfect chance to pursue common project and to unearth and attract new talents. On the other hand, young people can gain some experience supervised by our experts.
Safe lanyards for employee identification cards are going to replace those standard ones. That is going to prevent the risk of being drawn into a machine while a lanyard is snatched. This solution, although cheap and easy, can safe somebody’s health or even life.
Even the smallest change can make a huge difference. The KAIZEN idea once again yielded a perfect solution for increasing safety of our staff.
It is also worth noting that the lanyards have been made of recycled material.
We are glad to announce that recently Odlewnia Kutno successfully passed the recertification process of the Integrated Management System in line with ISO9001 and 14001 standards.
Our mission is to produce castings that meet our customers’ expectations – high quality products manufactured in a timely manner, but at the same time with respect for our employees, process and quality standards, continual improvement and natural environment.
