On 30 October, hot commissioning under the RaFeSi project called “Development of an innovative technology for the production of FeSi75 with an ultra-low content of carbon using refining slag based on amorphous silica dust” took place. Soraya Hakuziyaremye, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Francis Gatare, CEO of RMB, visited the Smelter on 18 June 2019 and, together with representatives of LuNa Smelter Ltd., toured the premises and were impressed by the progress on the ongoing maintenance, construction, and preparations for the 2nd production phase scheduled for July 2019. Our guests were briefed on the current situation of the Smelter and on our future plans related to the integral development of Rwandan mining and metallurgy, to which LuNa Smelter desires to contribute significantly.
